About the event
Please Note Tickets for this tour can only be purchases through enquiry using the contact us form at the bottom of the page.
The dates for the ride are the 1st - 6th October 2024, this fits in with the Plymouth Santander Ferry (29th September) if you chose that route to join the trip, although it is quite a long day to get back for the return (7th October), however may i suggest booking the Bilbao Portsmouth Ferry on the 8th October. I'm largely running this tour at cost price as it will be a new route for me. The cost of the tour will be £600 per rider. If you want a private room it may be available, upon request, for additional supplement of £270, please contact before booking if you require single ocupancy rooms. Initial Payment is a Non-Refunable £100 Deposit, The Final balance will be due by the end of August.
What's Included:
- 6 Days of guided riding in the Pyrenees - however, a reminder that this is a recce, so although I am a qualified guide exact trail knowledge will be limited (besides I'm not sure my brain has the capacity to remember more than 700 miles of back roads off by heart).
- Each day of riding will be between 100 and 150 miles. This may not sound much for those of you familiar with road touring, but the route has been structured this way so we arrive at the accommodation in the afternoon this also means there will be loads of opportunities for photos etc.
- 5 Nights accommodation:
- The advertised price includes bed and breakfast accommodation in twin or triple rooms.
- If you would prefer private accommodation this may be able to be arranged for an additional supplement as described above.
What's Not included
- Transport to Spain - it will be up to you to arrange to get yourself and your motorcycle to Spain as hire bikes are not available for this trip.
- Accommodation before and after the ride - you will need to sort this out for yourself.
- Lunch and evening meals:
- Lunch will be as we find it on the trails, my experience of riding in Spain is that finding food is achievable in most small settlements.
- Evening meals sometimes we're overnighting in towns, so there may be choice where to go other nights we'll probably be limited to the hotel's offering.
- Fuel - a range of at least 120 miles is recommended if you have a shorter range consider an emergency fuel reserve. Having said that, I went to a different part of Spain last year and had a range of approx. 80 miles on my enduro bike. I carried 4 extra litres the whole trip and didn't need them once.
What you need to bring
- Passport and Driving License.
- PPE - the following is mandatory:
- An ECE 22.05 or ECE 22.06 rated motorcycle helmet.
- Sturdy motorcycle clothing with armour at the shoulders, elbows and knees, (MotoFox also strongly recommends back and hip armour).
- Suitable protective gloves.
- Clothing suitable for the prevailing weather (I have experienced snow over high ground in a Spanish October before).
- Sturdy Motorcycle or Combat boots rising at least to the mid shin, although we highly recommend Enduro or MX style boots.
- Your motorcycle - please make sure it is in a roadworthy state and a good state of repair (breakdowns do happen but everything you can do in advance to make sure it's prepped for the journey is a good idea). Your motorcycle must also be taxed insured and have a valid MOT.
- Any trail tools and a puncture repair kit.
- You MUST have suitable travel insurance and European breakdown cover. This is an unsupported trip, so please make sure you have means of repatriation in the unlikely event of an emergency.
- Phone, cameras (a drone if you want).
- Clothes for off the bike, wash kit, chargers etc.
